MLB Trade Scenarios: 5 Teams Who Should Pounce on Zack Greinke

2012-02-06
As we near the start of spring training and the 2012 regular season, we start to analyze players to see which will perform well, which will perform poorly, which will stay put and which will be traded.  We make projections and predictions and try our best to single-handedly determine who will walk away eight-and-a-half months from now with the trophy.  We're usually wrong, but we try regardless ...

Fantasy MLB Fan: Will Buster Posey Remain Healthy and Return to Form?

2012-02-03
Buster Posey is going at an ADP of 54, which given his leg and ankle injuries just seems far too high for my liking. All reports so far seem to indicate that Posey will be ready and good to go for spring training, but that doesn't mean he'll stay healthy, as the catcher...

HBT: MLB's worst position situations

2012-02-02
After declaring the Houston Astros in position of the game’s worst rotation earlier today, I thought it’d be fun to look at the rest of the worst. So here are MLB’s most gruesome position situations heading into the 2012 season:

MLB Notes: Ortiz, Sox headed for salary clash

2012-02-01
David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox are likely headed to arbitration to determine the designated hitter's 2012 salary.

Fantasy MLB Fan: Can Joe Mauer Return to Form?

2012-02-01
Injuries have slowed down Joe Mauer since his MVP days, and he's not offering the same value that he was, quite obviously. His batting average has decreased each of the last three seasons, since 2009, his MVP year, when he hit an outstanding .365 from the plate while dialing up...

Who Should You Choose to Start a MLB Franchise?

2012-02-05
We have all thought about it. If you could pick one player to start a franchise, who would it be? Everybody has their method. Some people want youth to be the foundation of their team for years to come, others want a veteran with experience to start their team. There is also a debate over pitcher or position player. Which one is really more important to a team? An ace, like Justin Verlander, or ...

MLB Free Agency: Every Team's All-Time Epic Offseason Failure

2012-02-01
During the offseason MLB teams are willing to go out and spend big money on free agents. There have been times when these deals have not worked out for the teams. While there have been a number of free agents that have been outstanding, there are a number of signings that teams would like to forget. Some of these signings cost teams tens of millions of dollars. Injuries derailed some players ...

MLB Power Rankings: February Predictions and Rankings for All 30 Teams

2012-02-01
February is not the time to try to build a winner through MLB free agency or trades. Though Roy Oswalt, Edwin Jackson and Yoenis Cespedes remain on the open market, only the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals and Miami Marlins are really positioned to reap huge benefits from one marginal addition. With fewer than two weeks separating us from Spring Training, there remains time for teams to make ...

2012-01-17
The Baltimore Orioles have hired former major league pitching coach Rick Peterson to be their director of pitching development. The one-year deal was announced on the team website. Peterson is to oversee the team's minor league pitchers, a job formerly held by Alan Dunn. Peterson was named pitching coach of the Oakland Athletics in 1998.

@AdamSchefter I'd pay to see pros play a mid-season flag football (no injuries) game. Market a mid-season all-star wknd like MLB, NHL & NBA.

Brandon Webb hasn't given up on returning to MLB. Webb once had ace-type/#2 stuff in Arizona, but injuries have halted his career.
